What is a Modern Day Lady of Leisure?

A Lady of Leisure was once referred to as a lady who did not work but instead enjoyed the lifestyle of reading when she wanted, shopping in her free time and giving time to develop her skills in needlework and poetry. It is my belief that for my generation, these ladies sadly no longer exist. My definition of a Modern Day Lady of Leisure is someone that is extremely busy with all the commitments that she may have, but somehow manages to find the time to read books, attend the cinema to watch movies, cook in her highly organised kitchen or develop her skills in sewing.

Original Ladies of Leisure also found the time to meet with other Ladies of Leisure to discuss the events of their week and what they were doing to fill in their time. Although Modern Day Ladies of Leisure do have the occasional chance to meet with their associates, it isn't as often. This is why this blog has been started, to provide the opportunity for the MDLOL's (short for Modern Day Lady of Leisure) to discuss our 'time fillers'.

So whether or not you believe you are an MDLOL, please enjoy my blog.
