The Big Bag

I am starting my new career next year, which is Primary School Teaching. As such, I need a BIG bag to carry the enormous amount of 'stuff' needed to actually teach! I had looked around to find a bag which would fulfil my needs, however they were either ridiculously expensive or just plain ugly. Therefore at a recent craft fair that I found myself at, I discovered a pattern for a BIG bag which I liked and at the same time found material which I thought was cute, yet funky. Which is how I came to make this bag.

It wasn't too hard to make. The worst part was the preparation and all the cutting, making sure that all pieces were of the same size and that they matched. I did however make an error with the front panel which caused a loss of half an inch on the width, however it is mostly unnoticable. I thoroughly enjoyed making it and am LOVING using the sewing maching given to me for our wedding.

My next project is a quilt. I'm making the most of the time off that I have before school starts and I find sewing very relaxing. I'm using a jelly roll and a pattern from a quilting book written specifically for jelly rolls. I'm not quite sure how it will go considering at the moment it looks a little something like this.....

That's all for now,
